The Toyota 86 took the world by storm after entering production in 2019, and the 2022 model year (also known as Gen 2) is looking to expand on what has made the Toyota 86 such a thrill to drive. Let’s take a look at what we’ve learned so far. 

Performance 

The most notable change to the 2022 model year over the previous offering is a substantial increase in horsepower. This comes from an increase in overall engine size from 2 litres to 2.4, which ups the horsepower noticeably from 208 to 225 ensuring snappier acceleration. This is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission standard or an optional automatic transmission, ensuring nobody will be left out of the fun.
